“Rumba Guarapachangueo! ( Tumba G.)”

Rumba is a dance and music modality born out of the mixture of African and Spanish cultures. La Rumba was born in the solares of Matanzas and La Havana in Western Cuba. Working-class Afro-Cubans would come together to celebrate their roots, forget their troubles, and foster community as they challenged, flirted, and connected with one another. There are three different styles of Rumba, Yanbu, Guaguanco, and Columbia. Each style has its own flavor, speed, and rhythm. Existing and sharing joy have always been powerful forms of resistance.

Rumba Guarapachangue is a creative take on the traditional rumba that incorporates different dance styles and rhythms.
