Amneris Martinez is from Ponce, Puerto Rico. She began her studies in dance very young in the academia de Julie Mayoral studying classical jazz, ballet and contemporary dance as well as salsa, hip hop, lyrical, tap, rumba and many other dance forms. In 2003 she participated in the film Dirty Dancing 2 Havana Night.
She is admired for her explosive Latin energy, flavor and fusion between Puerto Rican style, New York style and Afro-Cuban body movement.
She is one of the best dancers of the last two decades.
Amneris Martinez together with Juan Matos revolutionized the world of salsa with a partnership that lasted 10 years. She also has the experience of dancing with Adolfo Indacochea, bringing something new with an old flavor.
Her ability to teach, keep cheerful and be available for her students, as allow her to be very successful and become one of the most popular dancers in the Latin Dance Community worldwide.
Born in 1988, in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, Jessica Quiles Hernándezdance salsa from a young age. She started to practice ballet, jazz, bomba, plena in the Art School of Bayamón and Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Her teachers were Papito Jala Jala, Tito Ortos and Angel Martinez.
As greatest experiences, she had the honor to dance in many salsa orchestras and famous singer concerts, besides, she has been selected as part of the cast in the movie Havana night (2004), among other productions and reality shows.
She was teaching the famous “Tito Ortos Method” for 4 years in the most important dance school of Bayamon. Jessica has a degree in Business Administration and Telecommunications from the University of Sacred Heart in Puerto Rico. She lived 11 years in Italy, teaching in different schools such as the Sosa Academy . Traveling around the world in congresses as a couple. It has women’s teams all over the world. Also she is champion as a soloist 3 times. Today she lives in Tampa Florida.
Melany Crystal Mercedes, born and raised in Bronx, New York started her dancing career at the age of 14, discovering Yamulee Dance Company. She soon joined and at the age of 17 was in both the Semi-professional and Professional team. In late 2013, Melany Mercedes was offered the opportunity to dance as Osmar Perrones’ main dancer and got to travel and perform all over the world along with the company. Melany has since ventured off to choreographing routines, working with different companies and dancers such as Framboyan Dance Company and Omambo Dance Project, a Championship winning team based in California. In 2017, Melany and her long time best friend and former teammate, Andrew Avila, decided that they had to partner up and bring all their creativity to life. Since then, they have together auditioned for the famous dance show ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ where she placed top 10 women in Season 17 and became the first On2 Salsera to do so as well as having the opportunity to work in a music video featuring Maluma and Steve Aoki. Avila and Mercedes are also principle dancers for the upcoming movie ‘In The Heights’ premiering 2021. Melany Mercedes hopes to keep studying many other genres of dance which allows her to train under huge choreographers and also allows them to create space for On2 Salsa in the commercial industry.
